Account Takeover and how to keep your Juni account safe 

At Juni, we strive to be the best all-around financial platform for your needs. Above all, we want you to have peace of mind knowing your account is secure and your funds are safe.

Unfortunately, sophisticated frauds and scams are on the rise in recent years, and especially Account Takeover (“ATO”) attempts. ATO is a form of fraud and identity theft where the fraudster will attempt to gain access to your account (and sometimes succeed) using your personal information. 

The fraudster will use various methods, known as phishing, to trick the customer into handing over login or banking details, and then move funds out of the account without the account holder’s consent. 

Be extra cautious if you receive any emails, phone calls, or text messages purporting to be from organisations such as Juni, banks, utilities companies, or mobile phone providers.

A few tips from us...

  • Choose a robust password for your Juni account - we believe in you!
  • Two Factor Authentication (“2FA”) - Juni already have you covered. Click here for more information.
  • Remember that Juni will NEVER ask you to share any sensitive information about yourself or your account, such as: 
  • any passwords (like the password you use to login to our platform or your email password).
  • the 2FA recovery code (the code sent to you when registering to 2FA in case you want to login without your device).
  • the full 16 digit number and CVV (3 digit number on the back of your card) of any of your cards. 
  • Juni will never send you texts or emails claiming that your account is under attack or suspicious activity was detected, prompting you to click on a link and enter any personal information to a website, such as banking details.  
  • If you receive any texts or emails containing a URL, take your time and have a closer look. If possible, visit the website using the correct URL, inputting it one letter at a time.
